CommentHybridization: Gekko hokouensis occasionally hybridizes with Gekko yakuensis (Toda et al. 2001, Okamoto et al.: Genbank sequences). See also Gekko hokouensis. 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality, Yaku-shima.
