CommentSynonymy: "Kluge recognized Gekko tuberculatus (= tuberculosus) Daudin 1802 as a senior synonym of Gekko monarchus (Duméril & [Bibron] 1836). [...] Subsequent usage by early authors (e.g. Fitzinger 1843) suggest that G. tuberculosus is a senior subjective synonym of Hemidactylus mabouia (Moreau de Jonnès 1818). This was also the conclusion of Brygoo (1991) who reviewed the question and suggested that G. tuberculosus be regarded as a forgotten name" (Bauer 1994).
KLUGE 1993 lists G. monarchus as a synonym of G. tuberculosus.

Distribution: Has been erroneously reported from Sri Lanka, but not present there (SOMAWEERA & SOMAWEERA 2009).
