Types | Holotype: ITBCZ 667, adult male, collected on 2 August 2008, by Nguyen Ngoc Sang. Paratypes. ITBCZ 668–670, ITBCZ 700–702—six adult males, ITBCZ 671—adult female, same data as holotype. |
Diagnosis | Diagnosis. Gekko vietnamensis sp. nov. has the following diagnostic characters: a medium size (SVL up to 91 mm); lack of precloacal and femoral pores, no enlarged femoral scales; rostral touching nostril; 11–12 supralabials, 10–11 infralabials; body slender with four unclear transverse bands on the back and 28–30 scales across mid-belly; 18–20 undivided transverse lamellae under the fourth toe, digits free; and tail longer than snout-vent length with enlarged undivided transverse subcaudal scales. |
Comment | Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). Group: G. petricolus group (Meesook et al. 2021). |
