Type locality: Near Colonia Francisco I. Madero, ca. 1800 m elevation, municipality of Jitotol, Chiapas, Mexico.

EtymologyNamed after Latin latus, wide, broad; spacious, extensive + Latin cinctus, surrounded, encircled. [“...a broad light neck ring...”].
