DiagnosisDiagnosis (genus). Supranasals absent; last upper labial greatly reduced and repositioned posteriorly! temporal and posterior head shields fragmented; panetais each bordered by 2 upper secondary temporals, single nuchal and internuchal; chinshields 2, second pair and post genials seperated from contact with lo~er labials by row of small lateral chin scales; auricular lobules absent; premaxilliary teeth 6-9; large size (maximum SVL 112 mm). CommentType species: Eugongylus haraldmeieri BÖHME 1976 is the type species of the genus Geoscincus SADLIER 1986: 6.

Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. Apparently only known from the types (Böhme 2014). 
EtymologyNamed after Harld Meier (1922-2007), German naturalist.
