Etymology | Named after its dusky, brown tail (Latin “fuscus” = dark, blackish, and Latin “cauda” = tail). Note that -caudis is an adjective of either masculine or feminine gender (B. Fortson via F. Kraus, pers. comm., 1 Jan 2025). |
