TypesHolotype: private collection JMV73.R.5, Macabe Forest, Mauritius, 600m, collected G. de Fontenay, 18.iv.1973. Subsequent depository unknown. 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: G. bojerii fontenayi Vinson, 1973 differs from G. b. bojerii in its shorter limbs, sombre colouring, rather matt dorsal surface and some minor aspects of scaling (Austin et al. 2009). 
CommentHabitat: forest floor, among leaves, roots and stones. Terrestrial. 
EtymologyNamed after the collector of the type, Mr. G. de Fontenay.
