TypesHolotype: private collection JMV73.R.5, Macabe Forest, Mauritius, 600m, collected G. de Fontenay, 18.iv.1973. Subsequent depository unknown. 
DiagnosisG. bojerii fontenayi Vinson, 1973 differs from G. b. bojerii in its shorter limbs, sombre colouring, rather matt dorsal surface and some minor aspects of scaling (Austin et al. 2009). 
CommentHabitat: forest floor, among leaves, roots and stones. Terrestrial. 
EtymologyNamed after the collector of the type, Mr. G. de Fontenay.
