Diagnosis 
CommentYear of description has been reported as “1864”.

Type species: Zamenis socotrae GÜNTHER 1881: 463 is the type species of the genus Hemerophis SCHÄTTI & UTIGER 2001.

EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
