Etymology | Named after the reticulate pattern of the species. The genus name means ‘‘western swollen-tail’’ from the Greek hesperos (western), oed (swollen) and dura (tail), in reference to its restricted distribution in the south-west Australian Biodiversity Hotspot. The generic name is feminine. [OLIVER et al. 2012]. |
