Diagnosis | Diagnosis: A relatively large (maximum known SVL = 365 mm) Heteroliodon with a uniformly-colored dorsum lacking a light-colored vertebral stripe; 214-224 ventral scales. Differs from H. occipitalis by its larger size, lack of a light-colored vertebral stripe, and higher number of ventral scales (>200, <200 in H. occipitalis).
