Diagnosis | Diagnosis (genus). Aglyphous colubrids; maxillary teeth 12-13; 1-2 posteriormost maxillary teeth enlarged, separated from anterior maxillary teeth by short diastema; dentary teeth 11-14, middle one or two dentary teeth in positions 4-6 greatly enlarged compared to anterior and posterior dentary teeth; loreal scale present; eye large, 0.35-0.54 times head depth at mid-orbit. Comment | Heteroliodon torquatus has been synonymized with H. occipitalis by RAXWORTHY & NUSSBAUM (1994). Type species: Pseudoxyrhopus occipitalis BOULENGER 1896: 613 is the type species of the genus Heteroliodon BOETTGER 1913. |
