Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Differs from other Ameiva in possession of a number of small scales occupying the position of the frontal scale of other species; prefrontal scales separated medially; six rows of ventrals anteriorly increasing to eight on much of the belly; in general coloration; and in the distinctive combination of characters given in the description below.
