Distribution	Ecuador Type locality: 0.5 km northwest of Abdon Calderon, Provincia Azuay, Ecuador, 1600 m elevation.

Diagnosis
Comment	Abundance: this is one of the species called “lost” and “rediscovered” by Lindken et al. 2024.
Etymology	Named after Professor Gustavo Orces (1902-1999), a zoologist and herpetologist who worked at the Polytechnic, Quito and who had a large snake collection that he made available to other researchers (now at the Fundación Herpetológica Gustavo Orces at Museo Ecuatoriano de Ciencias Naturales, Quito.
