Type locality: foot of Mount Moco, Benguela Province, Angola.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: An Ichnotropis with a single frontonasal, a single anterior loreal, prefrontals in contact with the second supraocular, a small series of scales separating the second and third supraoculars from the supraciliaries, unusually small dorsal scales, and a high number of scales around the middle of the body (from MARX 1956). 
CommentSynonymy: Maybe a synonym of Ichnotropis bivittata Parker 1936.

Only known from the holotype and paratypes. Parker (1936) found a juvenile that matches one of the key characters of this species, namely "smaller scales than normal (45-56 at mid-body)”.

Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after Greek mikros (= small) + lepidotos (= scaled), referring to the relatively small scales.
