Type locality: High West, Pokfulam, Hong Kong Island, China (22° 15’ 30’’ N, 114° 08’ 30’’ E).

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Typhlops lazelli can be distinguished from all other typhloids of Asia (except T. porrectus) by the combination of 18 midbody scale rows and supralabial imbrication patterns (SIP) with both second and thrid supralabials overlapping shields above them. From T. porrectus it is differentiated by a unicameral trachel lung, absence of enlarged occipitals, and a projecting mental shield.
