Distribution	Nepal Type locality: “in and near Agaupani, Bajhura District, Far Western Nepal”, 29° 26’ 54’’ N, 81° 36’ 11’’ E.
Reproduction	oviparous
Types	Holotype: ZSM 855/2012 (originally SHHS 2001/11, Fuhlrott-Museum Wuppertal); paratypes: Fuhlrott Museum, Wuppertal, Natural History Museum Kathmandu. Paratypes: ZSM 856/2012 (SHHS 2001/12), female; ZSM 857/2012 (SHHS 2001/13), female; both with the same data as the holotype.
Diagnosis
Comment	The genus Oriotiaris has been established by GÜNTHER 1864 but later synonymized with Japalura. See also Japalura tricarinata (BLYTH 1853). Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024.
Etymology	Named after Indian herpetologist Indraneil Das in recognition of his “outstanding merits for the exploration of the South Asian herpetofauna, and in gratefulness for many years of friendship and collaboration”.
