DiagnosisDiagnosis: distinguished from polyzonus by having 4-7 femoral pores (polyzonus: 12-17), larger temporals, caudal whorls composed of a single row of scales (polyzonus: 2 rows, at least in the middle of the tail), posterior upper femoral scales much enlarged and strongly spinose (in polyzonus posterior upper femoral scales are scarcely larger or more spinose than the anterior); transverse dorsal scales in 32-37 series (vs. 38-46 in polyzonus) (after Parker 1936: 134).

EtymologyNamed after the collector of the types, Dr. K. Jordan (1861-1959), a German-British entomologist. See Johnson 2012 for biographical details.
