DistributionMexico (Jalisco, Colima)

Type locality: A clear pond located 30 m southeast of Mexico Highway 80, 1.9 km northeast of Barra de Navidad, Jalisco, Mexico (19° 15' N, 104° 43' S [sic]). Map legend:

CommentPublication date: Rogner (1996) used the name Kinosternon chimalhuaca apparently before the actual description (BERRY et al. 1997). See ROGNER et al. 2013.
