Type locality: “Usaramo” (most likely in error according to  MARIAUX et al. 2008).

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Differs from all two-horned species by the absence of horns in females; also differs from all species, except K. tavetana, by its lack of dorsal crests in females; and from all species except K. multituberculata by the presence of a tail crest. Differs from all other species (in males) by discontinuous dorsal crest, on anterior third of back and only reappearing on anterior third of tail. 
CommentThis species used to be called Bradypodion/Kinyongia fischeri until it was removed from its synonymy by MARIAUX et al. 2008. 
EtymologyNamed after Professor Julius Vosseler (1861-1933), a German zoologist. He was in German East Africa (Tanzania) (1903-1909) and was Director of the Hamburg Zoo from 1910.
