CommentType species: Laemanctus longipes WIEGMANN 1834: 46 is the type species of the genus Laemanctus WIEGMANN 1834.

Synonymy: Laemanctus longipes waltersi SCHMIDT 1933 is now considered as a valid species.

Distribution: not in Yucatan state (Mexico) according to GONZÁLEZ-SÁNCHEZ et al. 2017.

EtymologyThe patronym waltersi honors Leon L. Walters, the taxidermist at the FMNH, who accompanied Schmidt when the holotype was collected.
