Type locality: “Long Bloe” (= Long Blu or Bloéoe, on the upper reaches of Sungei Mahakam, Kalimantan Tengah Province, Indonesia (00° 43’ N, 114° 25’ E)

Diagnosis 
CommentArboreal. Has been confused with L. vyneri (e.g. Lloyd et al. 1968). 
EtymologyNamed after Anton Willem Nieuwenhuis (1864-1953), a Dutch explorer and ethnologist who traversed central Borneo with Büttikofer (1893-1894).
