Diagnosis 
CommentType species: Lampropholis mirabilis INGRAM & RAWLINSON 1981 is the type species of the genus Helioscincus WELLS 2002. 
EtymologyFrom the Latin mirabilis (wonderful), a case of applying an interesting name to an otherwise small brown skink to increase interest in the species. This was a theme used by Ingram on several occasions. (G. Shea, pers. comm., 9 Feb 2024)
