Comment 
EtymologyNamed after Martin François Geay (1859-1910), a French pharmacist and natural history collector who worked for the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris during several expeditions, including Madagascar (1907), French Guiana and Venezuela (1908). He collected the snake holotype.
