Type locality: Colombia, Magdalena, Ancon Guairara.

Type locality: Ancón Guairaca (= Bahia Gairaca= Ensenada de Gayraca), Departamento de Magdalena, Colombia (11°20' N, 74°07' W), at sea level.

Diagnosis 
CommentAbundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed for the late Kenneth Miyata (1951-1983), in recognition of his herpetological abilities and as a token of the esteem in which he is held by all who knew him. A short obituary was published by the Washington Post on 23 Oct 1983. See also note in Miyata 1985.
