Type locality: Mutahi area, Bougainville Island, Solomon Islands.  
Reproductionoviparous 
TypesHolotype: MCZ 127844, an adult male, collected by Fred Parker. 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: An intermediate-sized Lepidodactylus, snout-vent length 37 to 56 mm for adults; digits moderately dilated (Gekko-like); scansors covering approximately distal % of ventral surface of fourth toe; scansors undivided but often two to four subterminal ones with shallow notches; toes webbed about '15 between the first and second and about ?4+ between third and fourth; adult males with 29 to 34 preanal and femoral pores in a continuous series, extending almost to distal end of thigh; tail subcylindrical without lateral fringe of skin or spines [from BROWN & PARKER 1977].

EtymologyNamed after Mutahi, a place in the northeast of Bougainville Island.
