Type locality: 1 km north of Imoru, Lanyu Island, Taiwan.

TypesHolotype: OMNH (Osaka) R2291, an adult male, Osaka Museum of Natural History, 15 Oct. 1984, collected by H. Ota; paratypes: CAS, OMNH 
Diagnosis 
CommentAbundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017).

Distribution: see map in Eliades et al. 2022: 107 (Fig. 8). 
EtymologyThe name yami refers to Filipino immigrants now inhabiting Lanyu Island.
