Type locality: General Cárdenas, municipality of Cintalapa, Chiapas, Mexico (16.906478N, –93.718398W; datum = WGS84  
Reproduction 
TypesHolotype. MZFC-HE 35657, Adult male, (Field no. UOGV 3344) (WGS84 for all coordinates),, collected in a rock crevice within a fragment of tropical evergreen forest by R. Herna ́ ndez-Austria, U. Garc ́ıa- Vázquez, L.M. Badillo-Saldan ̃a, A.E. Valdenegro-Brito, and J.D. Lara-Tufin ̃o on 10 October 2018.
Paratypes. Eleven specimens; 10 from Chiapas and 1 from Tabasco, Mexico. Chiapas: 3 specimens (MZFC-HE 35654, 35655, and 35656) from the same locality as the holotype; 2 (MZFC-HE 35652 and 35653) from El Aguacero, municipality of Ocozocoautla (16.7594338N, –93.5264658W), 595-m elevation; 3 (MZFC-HE 35658, 35659, and 35661) from the edges of the Chicoase ́n Dam, El Para ́ıso, municipality of Osumacinta (16.9146488N, –93.0648278W), 655-m elevation; 1 (ENEPI 3793) from the headwaters of R ́ıo La Venta, municipality of Tecpata ́n (17.0491078N, –93.8055058W), 282-m elevation; and 1 (MZFC-HE 35660) from Subteniente Pedro Sánchez, municipality of Jiquipilas (16.7158318N, –93.5467488W), 605-m elevation. Tabasco: 1 specimen (MZFC-HE 30407) from Cerro Las Flores, road to Ejido Francisco J. Mu ́jica, 5.70 road km WSW of Mex-145 intersection, municipality of Huimanguillo (17.3289468N, –93.6287878W), 680-m eleva- tion. 
Diagnosis

EtymologyNamed after Mexican herpetologist Aurelio Ramirez-Bautista, in recognition of his significant contributions to the knowledge on the biology of the Mexican herpetofauna.
