Comment | Subspecies: Liolaemus archeforus gallardoi (CEI & SCOLARO 1982) has been elevated to full species status.
Synonymy: L. archeforus is genetically indistinguishable from L. zullyi but morphologically clearly distinguishable, so they appear to be 2 morphs of the same species (Sánchez et al. 2023).
Distribution: not in Chile (fide D. Pincheira-Donoso, pers. comm., 23 May 2017).
Group: kingii group.
Type species: Liolaemus archeforus DONOSO-BARROS & CEI 1971: 93 is the type species of the subgenus Donosolaemus PINCHEIRA-DONOSO & NÚÑEZ 2005. The subgenus contains the following species: archeforus, escarchadosi, gallardoi, sarmientoi, tari, zullyi, scolaroi, baguali, kingi, somuncurae, and tristis fide PINCHEIRA-DONOSO & NÚÑEZ 2005. |
