Diagnosis	Diagnosis: ABDALA & JUÁREZ-HEREDIA (2013: 116) [in Spanish].
Comment	Group: Liolaemus anomalus group. Synonymy: Listed under Helocephalus by BOULENGER (1885: 137) but considered as of uncertain status. Diet: a large percentage of the diet of this species (50-80%) consists of ants (Lucas et al. 2023).
Etymology	Named after Greek pseudo (ψευδο), false, untrue, mistaken + Latin anomalus, species of Liolaemus due to Koslowsky, 1895. [“...This name alludes to the form's apparent affinity with the sympatric species Liolaemus anomalus Koslowsky 1895...”]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024)
