Diagnosis 
CommentDistribution: Reports of Liolaemus nigriceps from Atacama (Pincheira-Donoso y Núñez 2005) represent L. patriciaiturrae (Troncoso-Palacios & Ferri-Yánez 2013). 
EtymologyNamed after the black or dark coloration of the head, from Latin niger, nigra, nigrum = black, and -ceps, a short form of Latin caput = head.
