Reproductionoviparous. Harrington & Reeder 2016 discuss the phylogenetic position and the evolution of viviparity vs. oviparity.

CommentMember of the darwinii group of Liolaemus, defined by Etheridge (1993) 
EtymologyNamed after the indigenous nation that populated centuries ago, the region of the Santa María river valley and adjacent areas
(provinces of Catamarca, Tucumán and Salta).
