Type locality: “from km marker 95, Ruta Provincial 307, approximately 32 km (by road) from Tafí del Valle, Departamento Tafí del Valle, Provincia de Tucumán, Argentina (26 ̊ 40.82’ S, 65 ̊ 48.74’ W, 2820 m)".

DiagnosisDiagnosis. See entry of Liolaemus punmahuida. 
CommentBelongs to the Liolaemus elongatus group (fide ESPINOZA et al. 2000). 
EtymologyNamed after the Greek nouns helio neaning "sun," and derm, meaning "skin." The literal translation "sun skin," refers to the bright, sulfur-yellow dorsal color of the torso in males of the species. The specific epithet heliodermis is a noun in apposition.
