Comment | L. robertoi was previously confused with the Argentinean species Liolaemus vallecurensis. Liolaemus robertoi sp. nov. can be distinguished from any other species of the ruibali group because of its different character combinations, with 85-94 scales around midbody, anterior margin of auditory meatus with slightly enlarged scales, and totally different coloration. A hypothetical zoogeographic analysis allows to re-late L. robertoi sp. nov. with the cis-Andean lizard Liolaemus rosenmanni. |
Etymology | Named after Professor Roberto Donoso-Barros. |
