CommentType species: Liophidium trilineatum BOULENGER 1896: 599 is the type species of the genus Liophidium BOULENGER 1896. 
EtymologyNamed after the Greek prefix lio- meaning smooth + the Greek root ophis or ophid meaning snake. The specific epithet mayottensis means "from Mayotte".
