borneensis: Indonesia (Nias, Sumatra, Borneo);
Malaysia (Malaya and East Malaysia; Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, Pahang, Jahore); S Thailand; Type locality: Sarawak. Emended to Kuching, Sarawak by de Rooij 1917).  
Reproductionoviparous.

CommentJuveniles have white bands on the black body while adults are completely black.

Type species: Sphecodes albo-fuscus DUMÉRIL, BIBRON & DUMÉRIL 1854: 394 is the type species of the genus Lepturophis BOULENGER 1900.

Synonymy: Dryocalamus is currently (2017) nested within Lycodon (e.g. see phylogenetic tree in Wostl et al. 2017), hence the Philippine Lycodon must be moved to a new genus or Lepturophis synonymized with Lycodon.

Habitat: fully arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018).
