CommentSynonymy: According to STEJNEGER Cyclophiops semicarinatus and Dinodon semicarinatum are not the same. However, some of the synonyms might have been confused (this synonymy is after STEJNEGER 1907). 
EtymologyNamed after Latin semi = half + Latin carinata, keeled, ridged.
