Type locality: “Loo Choo”.  
TypesSyntype: ANSP 3479; this is also a type for Lepidocephalus fasciatus HALLOWELL 1860. 
CommentSynonymy: According to STEJNEGER Cyclophiops semicarinatus and Dinodon semicarinatum are not the same. However, some of the synonyms might have been confused (this synonymy is after STEJNEGER 1907).
