Abundance: Lycodonomorphus whytii is only known from three female voucher specimens, all from montane streams in southwestern Tanzania and northern Malawi. 
EtymologyNamed after the collector of the types, “Mr. Alex. White, F.Z.S.” (but still spelled “whytii” in the original description of Boulenger).
