Type locality: Dar Es Salam, Tanzania, ca. -6.8°, 39.2833333° (WGS84).

Diagnosis 
CommentAbundance: Known only from the holotype (BROADLEY & HOWELL 1991).

Priority: PASTEUR’s paper was published only in 1965 although the journal was labeled “1964”.

Abundance: only known from the type specimen (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after Latin “inexpectatus” = unexpected, probably after the unexpected discovery of a new species.
