mossambica: Mozambique; Type locality: Lumbo, Portuguese East Africa (now Mozambique).

Diagnosis 
CommentSubspecies: Lygodactylus grotei pakenhami LOVERIDGE 1941 has been elevated to full species status. 
EtymologyNamed after the collector of the type, Hermann Grote.
