CommentDistribution: Despite the lack of precise published locality records for Lygodactylus chobiensis from Angola, the currently accepted distribution for the species includes portions of Angola (Haacke 1970; Branch 1998; Broadley and Martiz 2010, Marques et al. 2018). 
Etymologynamed after the type locality.
