Synonymy: following Wermuth 1965 and Kluge 1993. 
EtymologyNamed after Gustav Conrau (d. 1899), a German trader, colonial recruiting agent, explorer, and, collector in Cameroon. He was killed by local tribesmen in Bangwa. See Beolens et al. 2011: 58 for more details.
