Diagnosis 
CommentHabitat: rainforest areas of low and mid-altitude

Synonymy: Boulenger 1893: listed Typhlops reuteri BOETTGER 1881 as a synonym of I. braminus. 
EtymologyNamed after C. Reuter who collected the holotype on Nossi-Be, Madagascar, and gave it to Dr. H. Lenz, who forwarded it Boettger.
