CommentHybridization: Mauremys caspica and M. rivulata appear to hybridize in Turkey although they are largely parapatric (Vamberger et al. 2016).

Habitat: freshwater (Rivers, swamps, ponds)

EtymologyNamed after Lain rīvulātus,-a,-um = rīvulāris,-e = that inhabits small brooks or rivulets [Latin rīvus,-ī m. = stream, a small stream; brook, rivulet].
