Type locality: Mangyshlak, Kazakhstan; “Nowo Alexandrowsk; Chodschent; Mangyschlak; Mursa-Robat; Mohol-Tau; Tschimkent; Brunnen Abdachir; Tschinas; Saamin; Golodnaja Stepe; Utsch-Kurgan at Naryn; Chark-Usjur (all localities in Central Asian Republics of former USSR”; type locality restricted to Nowo Alexandrovsk by Mertens and Wermuth (1960:78) and further restricted to 30 km east of Fort Shevchenko (formerly Fort Alexandrowsk), Kazakhstan, on the Mangyschak Peninsula by SZCZERBAK & GOLUBEV [1986:167], but see Zhao & Adler [1993:179] for additional comments)

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Anterior pair of postmentals separated by one or two scales; no subfemoral tubercles; males with 2-4 preanal pores; subcaudal scales one head-width behind vent smaIl, smooth, not enlarged and plate-like; scattered small keeled tubercles among the large trihedral dorsal tubercles which fonn fairly regular longitudinal rows; tubercles on tail arranged around middle of each caudal segment, not in terminal row of each segment (Anderson 1999: 165).
