Type locality: 1300-1500 m elevation, on the western slope of the central Zagros mountains, Tang-e-Gavshomar region (Ganj-Dare), Delphan City, Lorestan Province, western Iran, 33°49 ́ N, 47°49 ́ E.

|Comment||Note that CERVENKA et al. 2010 have synonymized Carinatogecko with Mediodactylus. For the time being we follow tjat, at least until this species has been included in more rigorous phylogenetic analyses.|

|Etymology||Carinatogecko stevenandersoni sp. nov. is named for Steven C. Anderson, in recognition of his great contributions to the knowledge of the herpetology of the middle East as well as the Iranian Plateau.|
