Diagnosis | Diagnosis. Allied to Micrurus mertensi and M. peruvianus by absence of supra-anal tubercles, the black cap and type of body pattern, and more remotely to M. corallinus of eastern Brazil; the ventral scales are much fewer than in mertensi and the number of black rings much fewer than in peruvianus; and the tail is much longer, with a higher number of caudal scales, than in corallinus [from SCHMIDT 1936]. |
