CommentSynonymy: This species has been previously synonymized with Mochlus (now Lepidothyris) fernandi.

The type specimens of Euprepes leoninus Fischer, 1884 (a synonym of L. striatus) are supposedly from Sierra Leone (Fischer 1883, 1884) but it is highly doubtful that the species occurs there (Wagner et al. 2009).

Distribution: For a map with localities in Equatorial Guinea see SÁNCHEZ-VIALAS et al. 2022.
EtymologyNamed after Latin stria = groove, often for stripe or line.
