Type locality: Hammam Salahin, 6 km au nord de Biskra, Algeria.

natatrix: Gambia; Type locality: Tobo swamp, Gambia.

TypesHolotype: unlocated (McDiarmid et al. 1999: 36), may be in INCDS (fide Wallach et al. 2014: 463), originally in IACB = INCDS (fide M. Sabaj, pers. comm., 21 Nov 2018).
Holotype: NRM = Naturhistoriska Rijksmuseum, Stockholm [natatrix] 
Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: Has been synonymized previously with Leptotyphlops macrorhynchus (e.g. BOULENGER 1920). Listed in SCHLEICH, KÄSTLE & KABISCH 1996 as synonym of Leptotyphlops macrorhynchus.

EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
